Ghana did not have a major religion. They worshiped their emperor whom was called Ghana or Buddha. They allowed Muslims to live in their empire and help them with legal matters but very few people converted to Islam.
About 41% of the population was Roman Catholic, Christian, and Protestantism; 20% to Islam and the remainder to other religions.
The people didn’t care that they didn’t have a major religion. They were okay with worshiping whoever they wanted.
With no major religion there weren’t really any conflicts between the people of Ancient Ghana. They all pretty much got along.
